Ongoing Lessons – Kids 8-12

Classes resume on January 10th, 2026.
2-Hour bi-weekly classes, ages 8-12

The monthly payment is $80.00. The instructor will send you an invoice so you can make future payments.
The monthly payment secures your spot for each class. You can cancel at any time, 15 days in advance.

The instructor provides the sewing machines and sewing tools.
The students bring the materials for each project. Also, a snack and a bottle of water.

The first project the student will make is a lined drawstring backpack.

Materials:
1-yard cotton fabric (main color).
1/4 yard cotton fabric (contrasting color).
1 spool of all-purpose thread.
4 yards of 3/8 wide paracord for the strings.

Please wash and iron fabric before coming to class. This is to avoid future shrinking and/or discoloration.

After making the first project, the student can pick one of the projects I have for beginners or bring an easy commercial sewing pattern and the sewing supplies required to complete the project. The first level will work with non-stretch fabric, and the second level will work with stretchy fabric as well.

Projects recommended by the instructor: pajama pants, shorts, apron, bags, skirt, Stuffed animals.

Note: It may take more than one class to finish each project.

In the first class, we will take time to learn the parts of the sewing machine, learn how to thread it, and practice on paper sheets or fabric. After that, we will start working on the first project.
